👣 Ground Participants Welcome

For me, horsemanship is not about collecting more techniques or searching for the next method. It is about refining the way we see.

Balance & Awareness is not a method to follow or a collection of techniques to master. It is a way of looking.

A way of becoming more aware of the horse in front of us, more aware of ourselves, and more curious about the conversation taking place between the two.

When we begin to look through this lens, our relationship with the horse begins to change.

Every interaction becomes a conversation.
Every challenge becomes an opportunity for understanding.

Every horse becomes a teacher.

These immersions invite you to step into that lens for yourself.

To slow down.
To observe more deeply.
To become curious about what your horse is communicating, what you are bringing to the conversation, and how greater balance and awareness might change what happens between you.

We work with the horses and people who arrive.

We observe.
We ask questions.

We explore balance, movement, feel and communication.

And rather than rushing toward an answer, we give ourselves the time and space to notice what is actually happening.

Because sometimes the smallest change in awareness creates the greatest change in the conversation.

This is not about becoming someone different.

It is about seeing more clearly, feeling more deeply, and perhaps discovering what has been there all along.

You May Feel at Home Here If...

You believe there is always something more to learn-not only about horses, but about yourself.

You find yourself asking why, not just how.

You value understanding before technique, and conversation before control.

You enjoy slowing down, observing more deeply, and becoming curious about what your horse is communicating.

You understand that every horse is an individual, and that every partnership is unique.

You appreciate thoughtful conversation, quiet reflection, and learning alongside others.

You know that the most meaningful changes often begin within ourselves.

If you found yourself quietly nodding as you read these words, you may already be on the path this immersion is designed to explore.

If these words resonate with you, you may already be seeing through the lens of Balance & Awareness.

What We Will Explore Together

Every immersion unfolds a little differently because every group of horses and people are different.

Rather than following a rigid programme, we let the horses, the people, and the questions that arise help guide the learning.

Awareness & Balance
Deeper awareness of yourself and your horse
Balance in horse and rider
Recognising what your horse is offering

The Conversation in Practice
Groundwork
Work In-Hand
Ridden communication
Feel and timing
Practical solutions for the partnership

But an Immersion is about more than what we cover

Time to watch.
Time to ask why.
Time to explore what a horse is showing us.
Time to feel the difference between doing an exercise and understanding what it is creating.

You will receive individual guidance with your own horse, but your learning is never limited to your own time in the arena. Every horse becomes part of the learning, and every partnership contributes something to the experience of the whole group.

You watch. You ask questions.

You join the conversations.

You explore ideas together on the ground.

And sometimes, one of the greatest moments of understanding comes while you quietly watch another partnership work through something, and suddenly see something in your own horse, your own riding, or yourself a little more clearly.

The Balance & Awareness Learning Environment

Although traditionally called clinics, I prefer to think of these gatherings as immersions because they offer something much deeper than instruction alone.

They are intentionally small, allowing time for thoughtful observation, individual guidance, meaningful conversation, and quiet reflection.

No one is expected to have all the answers. Questions are welcomed. Curiosity is encouraged. Every horse, every rider, and every moment becomes part of the shared learning.

Some of the most valuable insights come while watching another partnership. As you observe, discuss, and reflect together, you begin to recognise patterns that are often hard to see when we focus only on ourselves.

We work at a pace that lets learning unfold rather than be rushed.

There is time to think, to notice, to ask questions, to laugh, and sometimes simply to stand quietly beside a horse as understanding begins to emerge.

My hope is that you leave not only with practical ideas to explore, but with a quieter mind, a deeper awareness, and a different way of seeing the conversations already taking place between you and your horse.

Because when we change the way we see, we change the way we are able to be with our horses.

And perhaps, through that, to discover a different conversation altogether.

Come curious.

Come without needing to prove anything.

Your horse doesn't need to be perfect.

Neither do you.

I look forward to sharing the journey with you.
