A Journey of Transformation: From Day One to Day Five

Introduction:

Few moments are as exhilarating as witnessing the transformation of a young filly as she embarks on her journey. Ada recently embarked on her own path of growth, discovery, and the beginning of transformation, and we're excited to share this remarkable week with you.

The Beginning (Day One):

The journey began with a mix of anticipation, excitement and a bit of dread for the upcoming 5-day clinic. As Ada started her In-Hand Work, we knew patience and understanding would be essential. The first day was Observation Day, filled with curiosity and hesitation as we observed confirmation and postural issues, trying to determine where to start.

The Progression:

Throughout the clinic, something genuinely magical began to unfold. With each passing day, the filly's trust grew, and her understanding deepened. We witnessed her develop a willingness to learn and engage, which was a joy to watch.

This week, our primary focus was on establishing a solid foundation for Ada through In-Hand Work. This approach not only addresses her physical and postural issues but also enhances her body awareness for better long-term health.

To begin, we started with "Leading with Connection" to encourage Ada to pay attention, connect with her handler, and be more present within herself. This is the first step towards self-carriage, weight distribution, and connection.

Next, we introduced her to "Working the Square" and "The QuickSilver - Phase One" exercises, which gently encouraged her to slow down and step under to carry herself instead of pushing forward flat and into her chest.

Ada was never pushed hard or for extended periods. The real gem of this process was her gradual transformation in how she moved and carried herself. Our role was to guide her during this transformation, but the true beauty lies in her taking ownership of it.

Reflections and Lessons:

As we reached the fifth day of the clinic, it was incredible to witness the transformation that had taken place. This journey served as a powerful reminder of the beauty of time. It taught us about the importance of patience and trust in the process and the remarkable capacity for growth that horses possess. It's not merely about training; it's about fostering understanding and instilling the desire to engage and participate for their own benefit.

Conclusion:

While this filly's journey is far from over, the progress we've witnessed in just five days fills us with hope and excitement for the future. We invite you to join us in celebrating this incredible transformation.
